Those before, more original and the product of the anarchic unrbanism of the Middle Ages: the Latin Quarter, the Islands, the Marais and Les Halles. Those after Haussmann, larger and more bourgoise, inaugurated around the middle of the 19th Century. Offering new prespectives, these beautiful grand buildings with their perfectly aligned brickwork facinated and inspired the artists. We find Monet, Gauguin, Pissaro,Caillebotte, Manet and Renoir interpretating with masterful prowess their impressions of the streets of Paris.
