The Biennale des Antiquaires is a prestigious event at which the world’s leading antique and art dealers gather to display their finest pieces. Collectors, dealers and the general public are invited to this 27th edition in the beautiful surroundings of the Grand Palais, just a couple of miles along the Seine from the Hotel Britannique, from September 11th to 21st. Come and experience exceptional quality.
An event that is far more than just an Arts Fair
Originally conceived in the 1950s, the first Biennale took place in 1962, organised by the Syndicat National des Antiquaires (SNA). This prestigious body was founded in 1901 with the motto, ‘authenticity, quality and integrity’, and this intent has certainly been borne out by the supremely high standard of event that they offer in the shape of La Biennale. For this 27th edition the president of the SNA, Christian Deydier enlisted the talents of the renowned interior designer Jacques Grange. The challenge was to recreate the Gardens of Versailles beneath the superb glass dome of the Grand Palais. This will be accomplished with the help of gardeners from the Château de Versailles.
La Biennale is a golden opportunity to enjoy a stroll through history and learn about the past. The exhibitors are only too happy to talk about the pieces on display and give the benefit of their expertise. Museum quality antiques, fine arts and collectibles are laid out for your pleasure in breathtaking profusion. For over half a century this event has been the crème de la crème of European salons, visit La Biennale and you will understand why.
